The first ever flying electric car racing event took place

Electric aircar startup Airspeeder has raced its models for the first time. The competition took place over the desert in southern Australia.

Two pilots took part in the competition, marking the beginning of an era of a completely new kind of motorsport.

The company is already working on organizing new races, they are scheduled for 2023. However, much more needs to be done to ensure the safety of athletes.

The flying car is a streamlined electric car with a length of 3.96 meters. The model is called the Speeder. Its bodywork is made up almost entirely of carbon fiber. The weight of the machine is only 129.7 kg.

The transmission of the 320kW quadcopter allows the flying car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. The maximum flight altitude is 487.7 meters.

The first flight of the model in the third version took place in 2021.
