This may also affect the Amaury Cordil racing career

In ordinary life, racers rarely drive fast on public roads, because they have enough extreme sports in the workplace, but the Belgian Amaury Cordil was caught speeding. A young Formula 2 monoseries pilot lost his driver’s license for driving at a speed of 179 kilometers per hour in a 50 kilometers per hour limit zone. Moreover, the athlete himself posted a record with his violation on his personal TikTok account.

According to the Belgian publication NLH, police in the city of Termonde, northwest of Brussels, found Kordil guilty of speeding for driving in a 50 km per hour limit zone at a speed of 179 kilometers per hour. The rider was fined 3,600 euros and his driver’s license was suspended for six months.

For Amaury, this is not the first incident related to traffic violations, as he was previously accused of driving at a speed of more than 300 kilometers per hour – a video of this offense was also posted on the Internet. But in that case, it was not possible to prove that it was the athlete who was driving, and they did not punish the driver.

Formally, the lack of “rights” does not prevent driving on racetracks, since a racing license is enough for this, however, Formula 2 promoter Bruno Michel said that the FIA \u200b\u200bAutomotive Federation will study the situation – imposing sanctions on the athlete is not excluded. Recall that for 2023 Amaury Kordil signed a contract with the Virtuosi Racing team.
